Last Chance Triathlon 2024 Canceled Due to Hurricane Damage

We regretfully announce the cancellation of the 2024 Last Chance Triathlon scheduled for November 17th, 2024 at Fort De Soto Park. Hurricane Milton has caused significant damage to the park, rendering it unusable for the event. All events at Fort De Soto Park are canceled through November.

We understand this news is disappointing, and we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. The safety of our athletes and the integrity of the race are our top priorities, and the current conditions at the park do not allow us to host the event as planned.

Registered athletes will be automatically deferred to the 2025 Last Chance Triathlon, which will take place on November 16th, 2025. We hope you will join us then for what promises to be another fantastic race.

The park fees and other expenses associated with organizing the event have already been incurred, therefore there will be no refunds. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Crews are working diligently to restore Fort De Soto Park to its former beauty. We are confident that the park will be ready to host the Last Chance Triathlon in 2025.

Welcome new and returning Last Chance Triathlon participants! Last Chance Triathlon formerly Sun Coast Triathlon is limited to 350 participants. This is a USAT sanctioned event. Finisher awards will be given to participants at the finish line. This great local event traditionally sells out well before race day so please sign up today to guarantee your spot.

COME JOIN US Last Chance Triathlon on November 17th, 2024 at 7:00AM 3500 Pinellas Bayway South St Petersburg, FL US 33715 To those of you who have done the event before, welcome back. To those new to the event, you may be interested to know that the park is ranked one of the top-ten beaches in the United States; nine hundred unspoiled acres surround you. First timers, we anticipate that you will have a great first "Last Chance Triathlon" Register as an individual or grab some friends and take part in a 2 or 3 person relay team! To all, we ask that you enjoy the surroundings and please leave the park cleaner than you found it. INCLUDES A bucket list race, for sure! Pre / post race parties and entertainment The first 200 participants will receive a custom BOCO Running Hat. T-Shirts can be purchased for an additional $10.00 Age group awards 3 deep in ages 15-19 up to 80 and over. Top 3 Relay Team awards Closed course of racing in Ft De Soto. Snacks, Fruits, Body Armor. We encourage you to come to come to package pickup Saturday and support our sponsors and vendors. Save the stress of race day and get your packet. Follow the signs as you come into the park on Sunday. Late pickup is available on Sunday at 5:45am, but with the number of athletes participating, we STRONGLY encourage you to come on Saturday.

PACKAGE PICKUP Outspokin Bicycles-Clearwater 2241 Gulf to Bay Blvd St Clearwater, FL 33765 SATURDAY NOVEMBER 16TH 1:30 PM TO 5:00 PM Race Morning at THE FORT - Nov 17th from 5:45AM - 6:45AM You must furnish a photo ID and proof of current USAT membership. GOOD TO KNOW This will be a event you don't want to miss All relay team members must be present at the same time to pick up your packet. Substitution of a relay team member will not be permitted. Closed course of racing in Ft De Soto. USAT Sanctioned event monitored by USAT officials for your safety. You must furnish a photo ID and proof of current USAT membership. If you do not have USAT membership you will be required to purchase a one-day license. Per our sanction agreements you can only pick up and sign the waiver for yourself. You are not able to pick up someone else's packet.

PARKING / TRANSITION Race Day Parking Race day parking is at north beach of Ft De Soto Park. Follow the signs, sheriff deputies will be on hand to guide you to the lot. You can NOT leave the parking area during the event so do not try to. If you have family or relatives coming to watch they must be in the park by 6:45am since all roads will be closed during the event. Park patrons may now use their mobile phones to make convenient parking payments using the Parkmobile mobile parking app. This upgrade will replace cash transactions at the front entrance booth at Fort De Soto and alleviate traffic entering the park. Learn more Transition Area Access The transition area will be open on race day from 5:45 am – 6:45 am only. Any athlete, including relay team members, who arrives after 6:45 a.m. will not have access to the transition area. Only athletes who are body marked will be allowed access. You will not be allowed access to the transition area to reclaim your bicycle and gear until after the last athlete has started the run (approximately 9:30 am). It will be announced when transition is opened. NOT Before. In the event of cancellation, there will be no refund of entry fees. However, the USAT fee, if pre-paid, will be refunded.
